About Unity Park

This year we will be collectively redesigning the gardens and designing new community spaces on the Richmond Greenway.

After a long hard effort the Friends of the Richmond Greenway Collaborative has won the contract to lead the design and outreach for this project, the Unity Park Project on the Richmond Greenway.

What this means is that COMMUNITY MEMBERS will be redesigning our own park and many, we estimate over 70 Richmond / Greenway area residents, will be hired and paid prevailing wage from the grant funds to complete specific grant tasks!

Help us celebrate this amazing victory by Making it a Day ON!
Volunteer to clean-up our beloved Richmond Greenway from 9am-12pm and then stay from 12pm – 1pm to give your input on a new playgrounds, redesigned gardens, a rest room, community plaza, benches, shade structures, improved bike and walking paths and more.

Don’t forget to visit one of the 3 Unity Park Design tents and if you are a Richmond resident sign up to be considered for a paid position or learn how you can get more involved with the project!

With all that’s wrong in the world, this is an opportunity to celebrate what is right and come together to envision more solutions…

Celebrating this grassroots victory is an amazing way to honor the grassroots culture changing work of Dr King!
